Cola Consumed in Excess Linked to Health Issues

Drinking too much cola can reportedly lead to muscle problems.
Wired PR News – Too much cola is linked to health complications. As reported by HealthDay News, researchers have proposed that drinking cola in excess can lead to hypokalemia, which can affect essential muscle functions.
In a study conducted on individuals who drank a daily amount of 2 to 9 liters of the beverage, it was concluded that the consumption of too much cola can result in health complications ranging from fatigue, due to low potassium levels, to paralysis.
Dr. Moses Elisaf with the University of Ioannina is quoted by HealthDay as stating in a news release, “We are consuming more soft drinks than ever before, and a number of health issues have already been identified including tooth problems, bone demineralization and the development of metabolic syndrome and diabetes.”
As noted in the HealthDay report, information from the study was published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice June publication.
